A very common skin problem is having blackheads, form of acne caused by clogged hair follicles. These acne turn black when in contact with air.
What causes blackheads?
Each hair follicle contains oil-producing gland and a hair. A comedone, bump on the skin appears, when dead skin cells, dirt and oil gather at the opening of the follicle. When the skin opens, airs cause oxidation and the blackhead appears.
The following things may cause the annoying blackheads:
• Improper skin care
• Changes in the hormonal levels
• The amount of oil that is produced
This form of acne is not accompanied by pain as pimples. These dark bumps are located on the nose, and sometimes on the back, shoulders and neck.
